CPU Utilization

Monitoring CPU utilization is critical for ensuring the optimal performance of your cloud resources. This section provides guidance on accessing, interpreting, and analyzing CPU usage metrics on your cloud platform.

Accessing CPU Utilization Metrics

To view CPU utilization data for your cloud resources, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Monitoring Dashboard:

    • Log in to your cloud platform.
    • Go to the Monitoring section from the main menu.
    • Select CPU Usage from the list of available metrics.
  2. Set the Time Range:

    • Utilize the Range buttons (1h, 8h, 1d, 1w, 1m, 3m) to specify the time frame for analysis.
    • For a custom range, select the desired From and To dates.

Understanding CPU Utilization Graph

The CPU usage graph visually represents the percentage of CPU capacity utilized over the selected period.

  • Y-axis: Represents CPU utilization in percentage.
  • X-axis: Displays the timeline of the selected range.

Interpreting the Graph

  • Monitor for trends and fluctuations in CPU usage to identify periods of increased demand.
  • Peaks in the graph may indicate high activity levels, signaling potential resource constraints.

CPU Statistics Overview

In addition to the graphical representation, the statistics table provides detailed metrics for each CPU core:

MetricMinimumMaximumAverage
CPU Average0.00%24.51%5.48%
CPU #10.00%28.80%5.27%
CPU #20.00%28.49%5.27%
CPU #30.00%29.92%4.99%
CPU #40.00%30.34%5.14%
CPU #50.00%40.36%6.26%
CPU #60.00%28.14%5.97%

Note: Statistics data is based on 1-minute average aggregated samples.

Analyzing CPU Core Performance

  • Minimum: The lowest recorded CPU utilization during the specified period.
  • Maximum: The highest recorded CPU utilization, indicating peak demand.
  • Average: The mean CPU utilization across all recorded samples during the selected timeframe.

Best Practices for Monitoring CPU Utilization

  • Regular Reviews: Frequently check CPU usage trends to proactively manage resources.
  • Investigate Spikes: Look into any significant increases in CPU utilization to identify potential performance bottlenecks.
  • Resource Scaling: Consider scaling your resources up or down based on observed demand patterns to optimize performance and cost.
