Server Types in Detail
Type A - Availability
- CPU Allocation: Non-dedicated physical CPU thread with no guaranteed resources.
- Configuration: 1-32 vCPUs, 1-128GB RAM.
- Ideal Use Cases: Micro-services, small-medium applications, development environments, container services, or any server use not requiring guaranteed CPU resources.
- Price: Starts at $0.005/hour or $4/month.
Type B - General Purpose
- CPU Allocation: Dedicated physical CPU thread with guaranteed reserved resources.
- Configuration: 1-72 vCPUs, 1-384GB RAM.
- Ideal Use Cases: Application servers, web servers, database servers, container nodes, storage servers, HPC.
- Price: Starts at $0.012/hour or $9/month.
Type T - Burstable
- CPU Allocation: Dedicated physical CPU thread with guaranteed reserved resources.
- Configuration: 1-72 vCPUs, 1-384GB RAM.
- Ideal Use Cases: Applications with burstable CPU usage, remote desktops, web servers, storage servers.
- Price: Starts at $0.005/hour + $0.041/hour/CPU for usage over 10%.
Calculation Example:
- Server with 8 vCPUs, 8GB RAM, 50GB storage costs $0.0931/hour when powered on.
- Cost when powered off: $0.0102/hour.
- If powered on for a month (730 hours) with 7% CPU usage: $0.0931 x 730 = $67.963.
- If powered on for a month (730 hours) with 20% CPU usage: $0.0931 x 730 + $0.041 x 730 x 8 x 0.10 = $91.907.
Type D - Dedicated
- CPU Allocation: Dedicated physical CPU core (2 threads) with guaranteed reserved resources.
- Configuration: 1-72 vCPUs, 1-384GB RAM.
- Ideal Use Cases: Application servers, web servers, database servers, container nodes, storage servers, HPC.
- Price: Starts at $0.026/hour or $19/month.
